If you build WordPress websites in Pakistan, you have almost certainly used Elementor — or been told you should. The free version powers millions of sites, and the Pro version promises the rest: custom headers and footers, forms, popups, and a full WooCommerce builder. The question is whether Elementor Pro vs free is a real decision, or a one-sided one. This guide compares both versions feature by feature, converts every 2026 plan into PKR, and tells you exactly when the free version is enough — and when paying saves you money.

1What Elementor Free Actually Gives You
Elementor Free is a genuine page builder, not a demo. Install it from WordPress.org and you get the full drag-and-drop editor: columns, sections, live responsive previews for desktop, tablet and mobile, and 40+ core widgets covering headings, text, images, buttons, videos, galleries, testimonials and dividers. You can design any individual page or post and build landing pages without touching code.
What surprises most beginners is how far that goes. A simple business website — Home, About, Services, Contact — can be built entirely with the free version if your theme already provides the header, footer and blog layout. For a personal blog or a one-page portfolio, free Elementor is often all you will ever need.
The limits are about scope, not quality. Free Elementor works at page level: it cannot design your header, footer, blog archives or single-post template, and it has no form builder, popup builder, theme builder, dynamic content or WooCommerce widgets. The template library is limited to the free selection, and support is community-only.
Free Elementor is a page designer. Pro turns it into a site builder.
2What Elementor Pro Adds — the Six Features That Matter
Pro adds 50+ extra widgets and several builders. These six are the ones that actually change what you can build:
Theme Builder
The single biggest reason to upgrade. It lets you design your header, footer, single-post template, archive pages, search results page and 404 page visually — the same way you design a page. Without it, those parts of your site are whatever your theme gives you. Every Pro plan includes it, including the cheapest.
Form Builder
Build contact, quote-request and lead-capture forms without a separate plugin, with 20+ field types and multi-step forms. One catch: on the Essential plan you can build forms, but form submissions (storing entries, connecting to your CRM) need Advanced Solo or above.
Popup Builder
Exit-intent popups, announcement bars, lead magnets and promotional overlays, built visually and triggered by rules (time on page, scroll depth, exit intent, specific pages). A well-timed popup is how small stores grow an email list. Only on Advanced Solo and above.
WooCommerce Builder
Redesign your product pages, shop archive, cart and checkout without a developer. For a Pakistani online store this is where Pro earns its keep: you can put trust signals, delivery information and COD instructions exactly where buyers look, instead of accepting WooCommerce’s default layout. Only on Advanced Solo and above. (If you are setting up a store, our payment gateways guide covers which Pakistani gateways pair with WooCommerce.)
Dynamic Content
Pull content from custom fields, post data and site data into your designs automatically — so one template can render a hundred different pages. Essential for directories, listings and real-estate sites. Basic dynamic tags come with Essential; full custom-field support needs Advanced plans.
Custom CSS and Code
Add CSS to individual elements and inject custom code (header/footer scripts, tracking pixels) from inside Elementor instead of editing theme files. Only on Advanced Solo and above — and the feature most developers miss on the Essential plan.
Pro also adds the full 300+ template and kit library, global widgets, motion effects, sticky elements, premium support, and the AI tools on the Elementor One plan.
3Elementor Pro Plans and Prices in Pakistan (2026)
Elementor Pro is billed in US dollars, once a year. Here are the 2026 plans, converted to rupees at today’s rate of about PKR 277 per US dollar (28 October 2026 — your bank may charge a slightly different rate, plus international transaction fees).
| Plan | Price / year | Sites | Approx. PKR / year | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $59 | 1 | ≈ PKR 16,300 | One business site, Theme Builder + forms |
| Advanced Solo | $84 | 1 | ≈ PKR 23,300 | One site that needs popups, WooCommerce, custom CSS |
| Advanced | $108 | 3 | ≈ PKR 29,900 | Freelancers with a few client sites |
| Expert | $199–204 | 25 | ≈ PKR 55,100–56,500 | Agencies managing many client sites |
| One | $180 (renews $228) | 1 | ≈ PKR 49,900 | One site + AI credits, image optimisation, hosting extras |
A few things the pricing page does not shout about:
- Essential is the value trap — in a good way. It includes the Theme Builder and the Form Builder, the two features most single-site owners actually need. The jump to Advanced Solo is only worth it if you specifically need popups, WooCommerce widgets or custom CSS.
- There is no monthly billing. You pay the full year upfront — about PKR 1,360 a month for Essential.
- 30-day money-back guarantee. Every annual plan includes it. If Pro does not do what you expected, you can get a refund within 30 days.
- Prices change. Elementor has revised its plans more than once — Essential was listed at $59 by some 2026 sources and $60 by others. Confirm the current price on Elementor’s pricing page before you buy.
Compared with the cost of a website itself, Pro is a small line item: a basic business website in Pakistan costs roughly PKR 80,000–250,000 when built professionally (see our 2026 website cost guide), and hosting alone runs PKR 10,000–25,000 a year.
4Is Elementor Pro Worth It? It Depends on Who You Are
There is no single answer, so here is the answer by use case — the way we advise our own clients at Azhad Niaz & Company.
Personal blog or portfolio — Free is enough
If your theme already gives you a header, footer and blog layout you like, the free version covers your pages and posts. Spend nothing. If your theme’s blog layout is ugly, switching to a better free theme is cheaper than buying Pro for the Theme Builder alone.
Small business website — Essential ($59/year)
This is Pro’s sweet spot. The Theme Builder gives you a custom header with your phone number and WhatsApp button, a footer with your services and areas, and a single-post template that matches your brand. The Form Builder replaces a separate contact-form plugin. At roughly PKR 1,360 a month, it pays for itself the first time a customer finds your number instead of bouncing.
Online store (WooCommerce) — Advanced Solo ($84/year)
A store needs the WooCommerce Builder and custom CSS, and both start at Advanced Solo. The extra PKR 7,000 a year over Essential buys you redesigned product pages, a checkout you control, and popups for abandoned-cart recovery. Read our online store guide before you build — the platform and payment choices matter more than the builder.
Freelancer building client sites — Advanced ($108/year, 3 sites)
Three licences for PKR 29,900 a year works out to under PKR 10,000 per client site — a cost you can fold into a single project fee. The Theme Builder alone saves hours per project versus fighting a theme’s options panel.
Agency with many clients — Expert ($199–204/year, 25 sites)
At 25 sites, the per-site cost drops to about PKR 2,200 a year. If you manage client sites professionally, Expert is the obvious plan — and it includes priority support, which matters when a client’s site breaks.
If you need the Theme Builder, a form builder, or a consistent design across your whole site, buy Essential. If you need popups, WooCommerce widgets or custom CSS, buy Advanced Solo. If you need none of those, stay free — and spend the money on better hosting instead (see our hosting guide for Pakistan).
5The Shared-Licence Trap in Pakistan — Read This Before You Buy Cheap
Search for Elementor Pro in Pakistan and you will find sellers offering an “original licence key” for around PKR 1,999 — a fraction of the official price. These are shared licences: one Agency key resold to dozens or hundreds of buyers.
We strongly recommend against them, for reasons that have nothing to do with price:
- Your licence can be revoked without warning. Elementor regularly detects and disables shared keys. When that happens, Pro features stop working on your site overnight — and the seller has already been paid.
- No support, no updates you can trust. Updates come through Elementor’s servers only while the key is valid. A revoked key means no security updates for a plugin that renders your whole site.
- You hand a stranger access to your site. Activation sometimes requires the seller’s involvement in your WordPress dashboard — access to your business website in exchange for saving PKR 14,000.
- It violates Elementor’s terms. If you build client sites, a shared licence puts your clients’ websites at risk too.
The same warning applies to “GPL club” downloads and nulled copies of Elementor Pro: free downloads of paid plugins are a classic way to inject malware into WordPress sites. A nulled builder on a business site is a security incident waiting to happen.
If PKR 16,300 a year is genuinely too much right now, use the free version — it is capable — and upgrade when the site earns money. Do not buy a PKR 1,999 shortcut that can cost you the site.
6How to Pay for Elementor Pro from Pakistan
Elementor charges in US dollars by card, so a few practical points for Pakistani buyers:
- Use a debit or credit card with international transactions enabled. Most Pakistani bank cards work, but many banks disable online international payments by default — enable them in your banking app or by calling the bank before checkout.
- Expect a small conversion fee. Your bank converts PKR to USD at its own rate, plus a 2–4% international transaction fee. On a $59 plan, budget roughly PKR 17,000–18,000 all-in rather than exactly PKR 16,300.
- Payoneer or Wise cards work too. If your bank card is declined, a Payoneer card (common among Pakistani freelancers) is a reliable alternative.
- The licence is per year. Set a calendar reminder a month before renewal. Elementor renews automatically at the then-current price, and the renewal price can be higher than your first year (Elementor One, for example, renews at $228 after a $180 first year).
7Elementor Pro vs the Alternatives
Elementor is the biggest page builder, but it is not the only one — and for some sites it is not the best one.
- Gutenberg (WordPress block editor) — free. Built into WordPress, lighter and faster than Elementor, and good enough for content-heavy blogs. Weak for pixel-perfect design and custom headers/footers without extra plugins.
- Bricks — $249 one-time. A developer favourite: much faster output, cleaner code, one-time payment instead of yearly. Steeper learning curve and a smaller ecosystem — fewer templates, fewer freelancers who know it.
- Divi — $89/year. Similar all-in-one approach with its own theme and builder. Good for blog-heavy sites and the Elegant Themes ecosystem.
- Breakdance — $149 one-time. Another modern one-time-payment builder, popular with agencies moving away from Elementor’s subscription model.
Our take: Elementor wins on ecosystem — the most templates, the most tutorials, the easiest builder to hire a freelancer for. If performance is your top priority and you are comfortable learning a new tool, Bricks is the stronger technical choice. And if you would rather skip WordPress maintenance entirely and run a hosted store, Shopify is the alternative worth pricing — see our WordPress vs Shopify comparison for the full trade-off.
8Common Mistakes Pakistani Sites Make with Elementor
- Buying Pro before building anything. Install the free version, build a page, and upgrade only when you hit a feature you actually need.
- Choosing the wrong plan. Essential buyers who later need popups pay for a second upgrade; Advanced Solo buyers who only needed the Theme Builder overpaid by PKR 7,000. Match the plan to the features, not the price.
- Ignoring speed. Elementor adds weight to every page. Pair it with decent hosting, caching and compressed images — a slow Elementor site on cheap shared hosting will lose visitors no matter how pretty it looks. Our hosting guide covers what to look for.
- Using a heavy theme on top of Elementor. Elementor works best with a lightweight theme like Hello Elementor or Astra. A bloated multipurpose theme plus Elementor is two page builders fighting each other.
- Building everything with Elementor, including blog posts. The block editor is faster and lighter for articles. Use Elementor for pages and templates; write posts in Gutenberg.
- Buying a shared licence. Covered above — do not do it.
?Frequently Asked Questions
Is Elementor free?
Yes. The Elementor plugin on WordPress.org is free and includes 40+ core widgets, the drag-and-drop editor and responsive controls. Elementor Pro is a paid add-on that requires the free plugin installed first.
Do I need both Elementor and Elementor Pro?
Yes. Elementor Pro is an add-on, not a standalone plugin. Install the free Elementor plugin first, then install and activate Elementor Pro on top of it. If you deactivate the free plugin, Pro stops working too.
Can I use Elementor Pro for free?
There is no legitimate free version of Pro. The safe way to try it is the 30-day money-back guarantee on annual plans. Sites offering free downloads of Pro are usually nulled copies that can contain malware, and cheap shared licences sold in Pakistan can be revoked without warning — see section 5 above.
How much does Elementor Pro cost in Pakistan?
In 2026, Essential costs $59/year (about PKR 16,300), Advanced Solo $84/year (about PKR 23,300), Advanced $108/year (about PKR 29,900) and Expert $199–204/year (about PKR 55,100–56,500). Banks add conversion and international transaction fees, so budget a little above the converted price.
Is Elementor Pro worth it for a simple blog?
Usually not. If your theme gives you a header, footer and blog layout you like, the free version plus the block editor is enough for writing posts. Pro becomes worth it when you want custom templates, forms or popups.
What is the difference between Elementor free and Pro?
Free Elementor designs individual pages. Pro adds the Theme Builder (headers, footers, archives, single-post templates), Form Builder, Popup Builder, WooCommerce Builder, dynamic content, custom CSS and 50+ extra widgets — turning it from a page builder into a full site builder.
Does Elementor Pro slow down a website?
Any page builder adds some extra code. With a lightweight theme, good hosting and caching, an Elementor site can still load quickly. The biggest speed problems come from heavy themes, oversized images and too many plugins running at once — not from Pro itself.
Can I get a refund for Elementor Pro?
Yes. Elementor offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on annual plans. Read the terms on their site for the conditions before you buy.
Do I need Elementor Pro for a WooCommerce store?
Not strictly — WooCommerce works with free Elementor — but Pro’s WooCommerce Builder (Advanced Solo and above) lets you redesign product pages, cart and checkout without a developer, which is where most stores see the value.

Our Verdict
For most Pakistani business websites, Elementor Pro Essential at $59 a year is worth it — the Theme Builder alone justifies it. For a WooCommerce store, step up to Advanced Solo. For a blog or a simple portfolio, stay free and spend the money on hosting instead. At Azhad Niaz & Company in Peshawar, we build WordPress sites with Elementor every week — business sites, stores and landing pages — plus the SEO that brings them customers.
